Bio

Mayur Jobanputra is a Simon Fraser University Business Degree graduate, Technology blogger, Tweeter, Life coach and mentor, Investigative Journalist, and Web Designer for hire based in Vancouver, Canada. With more than 20 years experience working with computers, and 10+ years experience in the field as an IT Professional, there isn’t a technology Mayur hasn’t seen or can’t figure out in short time. His passion lies in teaching and consulting in Marketing both online and offline.

Currently, Mayur is a full-time freelancer for hire and has many client’s he provides web and graphic design services to. Mayur’s writing has also appeared on notables blogs like ReadWriteWeb. In addition to blogging and freelance design services, Mayur enjoys learning about Search Engine Optimization, EBook Marketing, and Small Business Entrepreneurship. Public Speaking and Educating Others is something Mayur loves and he takes every opportunity he can to coach his clients on the Fundamentals of Marketing.

1990 – got his first computer, a 286 PC
1994 – provided computer consulting services while still studying for his Business degree (see attached thumbnail)
1996 – graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Business degree
1997 – Full time Bookkeeper and Consultant for local dental clinic
1998 – Quality Assurance Analyst with GTE Enterprise Solutions and BC Tel Mobility
1999 – Web Developer and Business Marketing Manager for local startup, Digital Video Broadcast Systems, where he also co-wrote a patent application on video streaming
1999 – Earned a Bachelor of Technology degree from BCIT
2000 – Web developer for MacMillan Bloedel where he developed an in-house Content Management System
2001/2002 – Buildmaster and Release Engineer for Fincentric Corporation where he learned about large-scale banking web sites, web farms, release engineering and more
2002/2005 – Self-employed as a Freelance designer, developer, and online marketing freelancer through redprimary.com
2006/2008 – Release Engineer for Intrawest in the Advance Sales Team where he learned about VMWare Virtualization, and managed a large testing lab of 40+ servers.
2009 – Consultant and Freelance writer for hire through fullmotiongroup.com and this blog
2009 – Launched UgandaStory.com to search for my roots
